My mom and knitting

My mom passed away 2 years ago and was an avid knitter/crocheter. She taught me at a very young age how to knit and crochet. It was a great thing for the 2 of us to do together. It was a time to talk about school and problems that I have been having. She was an excellent listener and at times could really fix the issue at hand.

When she passed, there were bags and bags of unused yarn in her craft room. Some projects she had started but got tired of. Even some projects that she bought the yarn for and left in the store bags with the project in mind attached to the bags. Well, when she passed, my father went to my sister that knits and crochets all the time and gave all the yarn to her. It was fantastic! My sister absolutely cried when my dad did this for her. You see, my sister is 19 years older than me and was already married and out of the house when I was born.

I will be seeing her this weekend. I wonder if any of the projects that mom had started will now be completed by my sister. Every project that my mom had a person in mind. Usually with a name attached to the bag. That would be some gift, wouldn't it? To get a warm blanket from someone that finished a project started by grandma? I think it would be.

Well, I am having so much fun making these hats. I have not much yarn left, so maybe my sister will let me take a look at some of the yarns that were my moms. Otherwise, off to the store I will go. I really like the soft textures that are great for new babies.

Barefoot Sandals - $18.00

The idea of a sexy and comfortable barefoot sandal occured to me about 2 years ago after seeing a crocheted pair.

I like to bead and intricate beading is my passion so I expanded the pair that I saw with some extra sections and alot of beads. There is also a chain to make these adjustable to your feet. If they are too long you put the closure closer, if too small then extend it.

New item to promote

Dream Catcher Earrings!!!

I have decided that I will be putting a new item or new color pattern up on this blog.

My dream catcher earrings are with a french hook instead of what you see in this photo.

These come in many color choices usually with the same colors in the center, but I have made them by request of what the person ordering wanted.

I sell these for $5.00 which is unheard of, but that is how I run my business.

LOW PRICES WITH GREAT QUALITY!!!

Golden Retriever FOUND!!!

The owners of the lost Golden Retriever has found him.... Thank goodness! Great dog but we already have 2 big dogs. Goodbye, Buddy. (Which was really his name even though my daughter was calling him that since we found him)

We have posted signs in Croton, Howard City and Cedar Springs as well as the rest area on the way to Grand Rapids, MI. Need to find the owner as I already have 2 large dogs and 2 cats.

Life with beading

Well, I'm at a crossroads in life where I am sure I want to bead jewelry and still have to run the daily life of mom and wife. Beading jewelry has become a sort of passion if you will. I love creating my barrettes that can take up to 8 hours to make with all of lifes little interruptions. Softball, dinner, dishes, laundry, pets (2 very large dogs and 2 cats), husband, kids, and of course the real money maker .... my job.

I keep my beading tray at arms length so that whenever I catch a spare moment, I can start on the latest project and hopefully finish it.

Well, back to getting ready for work.
